business card design

Earlier this year Katie of Petal and Print re-designed my business card. I premiered the new card at Alt Summit in January and got great responses. I am over the moon in love with the gold foil and the chip board combination. It suits K Flick Studio just perfectly.

Yesterday Katie and I were honored to the among the 14 designs featured in Cool Business Card Designs by Bryn Mooth on howdesign.com. We are in great company with some amazing business cards. Hop on over and check them out. Which is your favorite?

Alt Summit

Sunday night I returned from a fantastic five days in Salt Lake City for the Alt Summit. The summit was a great learning experience personally and professionally. I was also luck enough to travel with Katie of Petal and Print, and Carmen of Trohv. It was lovely to spend a few days away with the girls being inspired, eating good food, and making new friends. I thought that I would share some of my favorite moments from the summit with all of you!

Alt Summit

Just wanted to pop in and say a quick hello from Alt Summit. I stumbled across these tiny gelatos in the lobby of our amazing hotel yesterday.

What to Wear

In 8 days I head off to Salt Lake City and Alt Summit. After talking about this for two years, I am lucky enough to finally be going and can’t wait. I have done all the fun stuff like signing up for camps, and picking what round table discussions I would like to attend. Now I am left with the daunting task of what to wear.

On Thursday night there is a large soiree Dinner en Blanc. Somehow I missed the en Blanc part and am now in a tizzy to try and figure out something to wear. So I have gone hunting for inspiration, here are a few of my thoughts.

out and about

Katie, over at Petal and Print, shared a sneak peak of a project that she is working on for a lovely bride in California. I absolutely adore her beautiful flowers. If you are not familiar with them you should go take a gander. There are some ready mades for sale here, but most of Katie’s work is custom, giving the client a chance to get exactly what she wants!

long weekend

I have a four day weekend starting at 8pm tomorrow night and I am so excited! I am not traveling, or visiting with in-laws. No meetings, nothing on my calendar. It will be a proper stay-cation and I could not be more excited! Of course I had to make plans, but ones that I have laid out, and am giddy about!

a little bit of backstory…

We moved into our house two years ago this month { how can it possibly be two years} and I have used my studio as little more than a dumping ground. I have re-organized, and changed the layout about three or four times, but have not found the best fit for me. The main problem is that I was trying to only work with what I already had, and without adding anything new to the mix it did not work out.

Last weekend I made the trek to the suburbs and IKEA. {I have a love hate relationship with IKEA, but that is a story for another day!} I also purchased some much needed paint.  All of the walls in our house were painted the same color when we moved in, “sell it” cream or something along those lines, Navaho White by Sherwin Williams in our case. {Apparently people purchase homes based on wall colors, ridiculous, but again, this is a story for another day!} Last year when we were painting most of the other rooms in our house, I discovered that Lowe’s had the recipes for all of the Benjamin Moore paints, and I have never looked back! I save a ton of money, about half the price, and still get exactly what I want!

So in summation, this weekend, on my four day stay-cation, I will be renovating my studio, and hopefully making it a more pleasant, inspirational, and useful space! Below are a few of the goodies that I picked up for the project!

I will be adding before and after photos, and some wish list items to add to the room over time, in the coming weeks!
