where have I been? at becket hitch!

Hi there, I know, I know it’s been forever, but for a good reason. I opened a store! I know crazy right, a baby and a store in the same year, well within 12 months.

Becket Hitch has been a dream of mine for years and I still can’t believe that it has happened. The store has a little bit of everything from cards and paper goods to gift for babies, and kitchen items. I have stocked the shelves with items that I have loved for years and some new goods that I just found. It’s a little bit of a problem not taking it all home with me at the end of the night.

So I hope that you all will join me over on the BH blog and follow along on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter.

I also wanted to let you know about the amazing floral workshop that we are hosting in conjunction with Make Tribe and Petal and Print this weekend. There are still a few tickets available and you can pick them up here.

In September Becket Hitch was thrilled to be asked to style the Baltimore Bride Magazine cake shoot for the 2011
issue. The issue is out on shelves now and packed full of great articles, suggestions, and eye candy! We worked with some amazing Baltimore bakers and are so happy with the results.

The first semi-annual Becket Hitch went swimmingly this past Saturday.  Katie, my co-founder, and I were thrilled to have so many people came to the show and have such amazing things to say about it.  It was fantastic to see everyone’s hard work come together in the space and truly look like what we had envisioned a short three months before.

We were so energized from the event that we went home, and called each other to start planning the spring show! {Details will follow when we have them!} If you were able to join us we hope that you had a marvelous time, and if you were not, we hope that you will be able to in the future.

There are so many people that I would like to thank that made the show happen this year.  Our amazing host Woodberry Kitchen without whom we would have been lost.  All of our generous sponsors for believing in us before they knew what they were believing in, and all of our makers who made the show such a success.  On a more personal note I have to thank my lovely husband who has not seen me for three months, and has been so supportive and generous with his understanding.  {At the end of the show he exclaimed “Now I can have my wife back”} My gracious mother also flew in for the event and stayed up late tying off loose ends with me.  She also handled the tickets and door the day of the event!

yummy in my tummy

One of my favorite things in life is a great breakfast.  My favorite place to go in Baltimore is Woodberry Kitchen. They focus on local, sustainable food, and have the best cocktails in the city.  Starting October 23rd they will be offering Saturday brunch, just in time for my birthday!  Be sure to have the bloody mary, it will be life changing.

They also happen to be hosting Becket Hitch on November 13th.  So come for the market and stay for some food!

introducing becket hitch

Becket Hitch, a handmade market, at Woodberry Kitchen is a boutique pop up shop in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the collaborative effort of myself, and my very talented friend Katie McDonough Kutil. We have both been avid makers for years, and after attending, and participating in craft shows around the country we saw a need for a different kind of show. We developed Becket Hitch to be an intimate curated market of artisans offering handcrafted products with an emphasis on high quality and great design. The mission was to redefine the current perception of craft by aiming to bring back the craftsman, the designer, the maker.

The market will be Saturday, November 13th from 10am – 3pm at Woodberry Kitchen. We hope that you will be able to join us.
