My favorite place to be for the 4th of July is Telluride, Colorado. It is perfect. Beautiful setting, fantastic people, and a parade that will knock your socks off. It’s so homemade, and everyone gets involved, to me it is what a parade should be.
Everyone comes out super early to set up chairs, drop off coolers, and claim their spot. We got there about an hour and a half early and this is how the street looked. People are serious about it.
Right before the parade starts jets fly over the town and go up valley. It is super special and the closest that I have been to a jet flying over.
No parade in Telluride is complete without tons and tons of dogs! Towards the end of the parade the sky’s opened and delivered some much-needed rain. (Fireworks were canceled because of drought and threat of fire) We then tramped down to town park and the barbecue buffet that the fire department puts on.
How was your Fourth? I hope it was full of good food, family and friends.
